Code of conduct for the students

The Code of Conduct, as envisaged underneath, is the summary of what every Student of Chowgule Public School; is expected to follow :

11.    Punctuality and regularity in attendance is essential.

12.    Students who come to school late or have been absent the previous day, must bring a letter or explanation without fail. In case of illness, a Medical Certificate should also be brought.

13.    Students are strictly forbidden to leave the school premises during regular school hours.

14.    Students may be required to take part in various school activities, as and when required to do so. Participation will be deemed compulsory.

15.    Students must come to school in neatly laundered uniform and polished shoes. Hair should be trimmed and nails must be cut regularly. Trinkets, jewellery should not be worn in the school.

16.    Pupils are forbidden to carry objectionable literature or expensive items. School does not take responsibility of lost articles, money etc.

17.    Respect for school property and school belongings is an absolute must. Any intentional damage to any school belonging is a severe Violation of the code of conduct, and makes the student liable for replacement of the damaged piece.

18.    Students are not allowed to leave the class without the permission of the teacher. While moving in between the classes in the corridors, students should move in such a way that no class is disturbed. Student should be orderly and quiet and not hurt anybody while ascending or descending the staircase.

19.    A vigilant outlook should be maintained towards keeping the surroundings clean. Waste papers if any, should be picked up and thrown into the dustbin.

10.    Students are not allowed to receive private tuition from the teachers of the school.

11.       Students are required to attend the assembly and are expected to join in the singing of devotional and patriotic songs.

Children should not bring crackers, colours, transistors, walkman mobile phone etc. to school. Unless formally celebrated. Bursting of crackers and playing with colours will lead to expulsion from school.

13.    It is compulsory for all children to converse in English as the CBSE syllabus stresses on student’s competence to speak confidenly and naturally in English. A student must speak in decent language all the time. He/she must ensure that his/her speech is courteous and polite. No student should participate in any kind of rumour spreading and should refrain from speaking ill about others.

14.    Buying eatables from street vendors is strictly forbidden outside the school premises.

15.    No child is allowed to bring gifts of any kind for distribution in school.

16.    Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, negligence of homework, disobedience and disrespect towards members of staff or bad moral influence justify dismissal of a student.

17.    Any communication sent from the school should be conveyed to the parents promptly. Parents must meet the teachers by prior appointment.

18.    While writing any examination every scholar should do so with utmost honesty. Recourse to any use of unfair means will be viewed seriously.

19.    A student must extend due courtesy and respect to members of staff. Respect for elders and affection for the juniors should be soundly inculcated. Refinement in behaviour should distinguish every pupil of the school. Every child is expected to uphold the name and honour of the school.

20.       Student should reach the school by 8 a.m. sharp. Entry beyond 8 a.m. will be liable to disciplinary action, felt suitable by school authorities.


Undertaking from the Parents & Students

11.     We have gone through the following Rules of Discipline prevalent in the School and undertake to abide the same :-

(i)     Continuance of a student shall depend upon his/her good behavior and the observance of the rules of General Discipline.

(ii)    Continued absence without leave for six consecutive days by the student shall make a student not eligible for continuance in the school and his/her name will be struck off the Rolls, without any intimation. Rather the parent is expected to intimate the school about the continual absence from the school.

(iii)   The student shall not indulge in practice like spitting in a place other than spittoon provided and disfiguring the walls, turning the fan blades, smoking, any form of gambling, using of intoxicants, rowdyism and rude behavior with his/her colleagues or the teachers, Principal and other Administrative Officers/Officials and violence in any form.

12.    We are also aware of the fact that for the offences given below the disciplinary committee consisting of teachers may recommend one of the undermentioned punishments to Principal/School Manager.

Offences :

a.   Negligence in Home assignments.

b.   Habitual late coming to School.

c.   Absence from class without proper application, duly endorsed by his/her parent.

d.   Wilful damage to School property.

e.   Delay in payment of School dues.

Punishments :

         (i)   Detention during the break during school hours.

         (ii)  Fine keeping in view the nature and weightage of the violation or rules.

         (iii) Expulsion/Suspension from the class or the School.

         (iv) Rustication

13.    On receipt of recommendations of the Disciplinary Committee the undersigned student shall be awarded the punishment in writing, and an intimation to the effect shall be sent to the parent as per the agreement. Every such punishment inflicted upon a student shall be recorded in the Conduct Register of an individual student.
